Review: Edimax IC-7001W Wireless Pan/Tilt Network IP Security Camera

Home security is one of my main concerns since I live alone, so the Edimax Network IP Security Camera has been a wonderful addition to my home. I have never had any security cameras until this one, and I had this one up and running in under 5 minutes.

What are the features?

• Free monitoring with the EdiView app for Android iPhone and on the EdiView software for computers
• Infrared lights to for perfect night vision
• Ability to tilt and pan the camera for a full view of the entire area

The Edimax IP Security Camera is extremely easy to set up. You have two options, connect it via an Ethernet cable or Wirelessly to your network, so I selected wireless so that I can place the camera anywhere in my home. This camera comes with a software disc simply install the software on your computer, follow the steps, and your camera is set up in less than 5 minutes. I recommend going in and tweaking the settings a bit to fit your needs. Be sure to go in and change your standard password so that only you and your family have access to your IP Security Camera. 

The camera footage is high quality for the price. I tend to monitor this camera mostly from my Android application since I am gone at work most of the day. I really appreciate the fact that I am able to control the camera from my phone, I can pan and tilt right from the app so I can be sure to get a full view of the entire area I am monitoring. I live in an apartment, and I am always semi curious to know what the maintenance people do when I'm not home, I joke that I probably don't want to know! I was able to watch the maintenance man replace my ice maker which gave me pace of mind knowing that was all that he did! 

My absolute favorite feature of the Edimax Wireless Network IP Security Camera is the Infrared technology. The room can be entirely pitch black, to the point that you can't see an inch in front of you, and this camera will be able to provide a crisp video of everything that goes on. I enjoy knowing that nothing will be missed by this camera!

I recommend the Edimax IC-7001W Wireless Pan/Tilt Network IP Security Camera to absolutely anyone! This is a great camera for home security and wireless monitoring, but it could also be a fun device if you want to know what your pets do when you are gone at work!
